Bikaner Technical University, Bikaner offers postgraduate programs leading to the award of degree of Doctor of Philosophy through its Departments or Research Centers, one of which is Aryabhatta College of Management, Ajmer. The award of degree of Doctor of Philosophy is in recognition of high academic achievements, independent research and application of knowledge to the solution of technical and scientific problems in Engineering, Technology, Computer Applications, Applied Sciences, Management, Humanities and English.
Creative and productive inquiry is the basic concept underlying the research work. The academic programme leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy is broadbased and involves minimum course requirement and research thesis. The University also encourages interdisciplinary areas through a system of co-supervision through its academic departments and research centers and provides excellent opportunities for such programs. The University undertakes sponsored research and development projects from industrial and other organizations in the public as well as private sector.
The degree of Doctor of Philosophy shall be abbreviated as PhD. The degree of Doctor of Philosophy is granted for research work in areas recognized by the Academic Departments/bodies of the University subject to the conditions and regulations contained hereinafter.
The research work shall be an original work characterized either by the discovery of facts, or by a fresh approach towards the interpretation and application of facts, or development of equipment making a distinct advance in instrument technology. It shall evince the research scholar's capacity for critical examination and sound judgment and shall represent original contribution to the existing knowledge.
The degree of Doctor of Philosophy will be awarded on the research work carried out by the research scholar, post which a scholar is entitled to the title of "Dr." before their name.

Process:

If NET is clear, then you can apply for the interview. If NET is not clear, then you need to clear the DAT (Doctorate Admission Test) which is based on an almost similar similar syllabus and pattern. Then on, you need to choose a research guide under whom you'll initiate the Ph.D.
Subsequent upon successful completion of comprehensive examination, each research scholar shall submit his/her research proposal as approved by the allotted supervisor(s) to Head of the Department concerned for consideration of the DRC, a committee consisting of the DRC members, supervisor(s) and one subject expert (to be appointed by the DRC Chairperson from a panel of names suggested by the supervisor). The committee shall examine the research proposal and suggest suitable modification / alterations if any. The scholar shall incorporate suggested changes and resubmit the research proposal to the satisfaction of the committee. The committee shall submit the research proposal to the Research Board for approval. Post this, research work can be commenced as per the Research Proposal.

Duration:

Full Time Mode: From 3 to 6 years.
Part Time Mode (with a job): From 4 to 7 years. (NOC required from present employer)
